'I'm fully all in with Bayern' - Kane dampens on Premier League return

Kane marks his hundredth goal for Bayern Munich

Harry Kane has declared that his enthusiasm in going back to the Premier League has diminished and he is open to discuss a new deal with Bayern Munich.

The star striker is currently midway through the four-year agreement he signed when transferring to from Tottenham Hotspur for £86.4m in the offseason of 2023.

The veteran forward has scored an impressive 103 goals in 106 appearances for the German side, contributing them secure the 2024-25 Bundesliga championship - which was the initial significant honor of his distinguished career.

Tottenham coach Thomas Frank has previously stated that he would welcome to see Kane go back to England, where he requires 48 goals to break Alan Shearer's historic Premier League scoring milestone of 260.

However, the England skipper has now indicated that he is no longer as keen about returning home as he earlier was, and would certainly consider extending his stay in Bavaria.

"In terms of remaining longer, I could definitely see that," he commented.

"I discussed openly a couple of weeks ago that I have not had those discussions with Bayern yet, but if they were to occur I would be prepared to talk and have an straightforward conversation.

"Obviously it hinges on how the next year or so unfolds and what we achieve together. Right now, I would say we are in a excellent moment and I am not focusing about anything else.

"In terms of the Premier League, I don't know. If you had asked me when I first left to go to Bayern, I would have said for sure I would come back.

"Now I have been there a couple of years I would likely say that has decreased a little bit, but I wouldn't say I would never go back.

"What I have realized in my career is that different chances and different moments happen and things work out. Going back to my first point with Bayern right now I am completely all in with Bayern."

Milestone Achievements and Future Ambitions

Kane is the all-time top marksman for both Tottenham and England and recently became the speediest player this century to reach 100 goals for a club competing in one of Europe's top five divisions, securing the landmark in just 104 games for Bayern.

However, a title had eluded him until he secured the German title last season.

Kane admits that he was not sure how he would feel after breaking his trophy barren spell, but now thinks it has made him hungry for more success.

"When you win a title like I did last year, maybe it could be natural to go the other way and be like, 'OK I've done what I wanted to achieve'," he added.

"But it's given me more motivation to do more and be better. I think I've demonstrated that this year.

"I was curious in how I would feel after winning a trophy. Obviously there's still a lot more I want to attain in terms of other trophies and bigger trophies for sure.

"But I think it was always just, in my head, what I was going to feel like after I did achieve winning my first one.

"But for sure, I driven myself the other way in terms of being even better, maintaining even cleaner, doing more gym. Just trying to get the most out of what I've got right now."

Looking Ahead

  • Ongoing success with Bayern Munich remains Kane's primary focus
  • The option of a Premier League return has noticeably decreased
